Two for One: Portrait Photography Workshop

Kick off the new year with our first workshop of the season—and we’re starting strong.
Two for One is exactly what it sounds like: two complete portrait workshops in one powerful afternoon, designed to stretch your creativity, elevate your technique, and give you fresh tools you can use immediately.
In the first half of the workshop, we’ll dive into the Brenizer Method, a cinematic approach to portrait photography that creates stunning shallow depth of field and immersive, high-impact images.
You’ll learn:
How to shoot and stitch wide, dramatic portraits
Lens choices and camera settings that make this method work
Posing and composition techniques for seamless results
How to think differently about backgrounds and scale
(We recommend checking out our latest YouTube video on the Brenizer Method before the workshop to get familiar with the concept.)
The second half shifts gears into our Undercover Portraits experience, where we’ll shoot in bold, dynamic lighting using unconventional locations and dramatic shadows.
You’ll learn:
How to see and shape available and controlled light
Creating cinematic portraits in less-than-obvious locations
Using contrast, texture, and environment to tell a story
How to confidently adapt to challenging light situations
This portion is all about creative problem-solving and pushing beyond safe lighting.
