Join us on a unique photographic journey through the historic and abandoned Donner Train Tunnels. These rugged, graffiti-covered passages are a visual playground filled with mystery, texture, and light. Each tunnel varies in length, shape, and atmosphere, offering endless opportunities to test your creativity and hone your photographic skills.
This is a walking workshop, and while the path can be challenging in spots, the images you’ll capture make every step worth it. From moody long exposures to dramatic portraits lit by your own gear, this experience is unlike any other.
Important Note:
This location is remote, and carry carts or rolling bags are not suitable for the terrain. Please bring only what you’re comfortable carrying.
What to Bring:
Camera
Lenses (wide-angle for environment, portrait lens for creative shots)
Charged Batteries & Memory Cards
Portable Photo Lighting (Speedlight, or monolight— only what you can carry)
Headlamp or Flashlight (hands-free preferred)
Sturdy Shoes (water-resistant if possible; parts of the tunnel may be wet)
